Here is a brief overview of how each solution is typically used.  

Destination RV   

Destination RV is designed to provide max coverage in large RVs or trailers during longer stays. It combines the mobility of an RV cell signal booster kit with the power of a residential cell signal booster, featuring a collapsible outside antenna pole that extends up to 24 feet to clear obstructions and receive maximum signal from faraway towers.

Destination RV and Drive Reach RV have very different antennas, each one meant to maximize signal, convenience, and performance in different situations.  

Destination RV  

Outside, Destination RV features a directional antenna. Set it up on each trip on a telescoping pole and point it toward the nearest cell tower. Inside, the panel-style antenna hangs on a wall. 

Directional outside antenna  

Destination RV features a directional outside antenna, also called a yagi antenna. This type of antenna can be pointed directly at the nearest cell tower for the best results, on any carrier, in very remote areas. This outside antenna attaches to a telescoping pole that extends up to 24 feet. The extra height helps the antenna overcome trees and other outdoor obstacles to get the best reception. The pole is designed for easy setup, attaching with adhesive brackets to the outside of your RV. It also has a sturdy foot on the bottom and locks into place with cam levers, so it can stand for your entire stay. Despite its height, the pole collapses down to a portable 46 inches – just stow it in your truck or RV while you’re on the road.   

Once you get to your campsite, about a 10-minute setup is required to get the telescoping pole up and connected. When you pack up, plan on about 10 minutes for takedown. Because of this, Destination RV is best suited for people who tend to stay in one place for a bit longer, rather than changing location daily.  

Panel inside antenna   

The inside antenna is a sleek panel design, mounted to an interior wall via 3M strips. It’s meant to stay put inside your RV and match any décor without getting in the way. 

Drive Reach RV  

Drive Reach RV’s omni-directional antenna stays permanently attached to your RV ladder to capture signal from any carrier in any direction. No need to pinpoint the nearest tower. Inside, the desktop antenna sits on a table or counter. 

Omni-directional outside antenna  

Drive Reach RV features an omni-directional outside antenna that picks up signal from all directions in areas that aren’t quite as remote. Since this antenna mounts permanently to your RV’s ladder via a 13-inch mast extension, it won’t reach as high as the telescoping pole of the Destination RV. However, once installed there is no setup, and you won’t need to aim the antenna toward cell towers. If you move from site to site frequently or want to use your booster while driving, then Drive Reach RV is probably your best bet.  

The Drive Reach RV’s omni-directional antenna is rugged enough to withstand driving and weather conditions. When you mount it, just make sure you stay below the maximum height limit allowed by law. Limits vary by state but are generally 14 feet in western states, and 13 feet 6 inches in the east.  

Desktop inside antenna  

The inside antenna is a desktop style which can be placed on a table, shelf, or countertop. We recommend a central location to best serve every user. 

Key differentiator: installation  

Before your first trip with either system, you’ll need to perform an initial installation. Plan on about 30 minutes for either product. 

Destination RV installation 

Here are the basic steps for installing your Destination RV. You can also check out this installation video.  

• Mount the outside antenna to the telescoping pole  
• Decide where to run the cable from outside to inside your RV   
• Attach the adhesive pole brackets to the outside of your RV  
• Place your booster and connect the cable  
• Place and connect your inside antenna  
• Optional: hardwire your booster to your RV’s electrical system

• Connect the coax cable to the outside antenna  
• Run the cable from outside to inside your RV   
• Place your booster and connect the cable  
• Place and connect your inside antenna

How to power your booster  

No matter which option you choose, you need a power source for your booster. If you connect to shore power at your campsite, you can plug your booster into a wall outlet in your RV. If you don’t have shore power, you can plug your booster into a generator or portable power station.   

If you go with Destination RV, the 12V fused hardwire power supply will allow you to wire your booster to your RV’s distribution panel if desired. However, like Drive Reach RV, Destination RV also includes a regular wall plug that may be more convenient.
